2009 Committee Work

Bylaws and Policies Committee: Amy Hunt (Chair), David Starck, Mark Weston.
Library policies and bylaws are ultimately determined and approved by the Board. This committee makes recommendations to the Board regarding policy, bylaws, and legal issues.

Building and Grounds Committee: Demetria Heath (Chair), Amy Hunt, and Mark Weston.
Oversees building projects and facility issues, including new construction and renovation.

DCL Foundation Board: Demetria Heath (President), Mark Weston (Vice-President), and Stevan Strain (Secretary)
Oversees the Douglas County Libraries Foundation and approves funding requests.

Finance Committee: Bob McLaughin (Chair), Stevan Strain and Mark Weston.
Oversees the library district's financial matters of the library, including the annual budget and audit, and large contracts.

Government Relations Committee: Stevan Strain (Chair), Demetria Heath and Mark Weston.
Oversees library advocacy and political relationships at the local, state and federal level.

Long Range Planning Committee: David Starck (Chair), Bob McLaughlin and Mark Weston.
Oversees the long-term and strategic directions of the library district.

Long Range Planning Study Session: 5:30 pm on Thursday, August 20 at the Philip S. Miller Library (100 S. Wilcox, Castle Rock)

Personnel Committee: Barbara Dash (Chair), Amy Hunt and Mark Weston.
Oversees personnel matters, including the Library Director's yearly review, an annual review of staff benefits, and oversight of the personnel budget.
