Douglas County Libraries currently sponsors Great Books Discussion Groups at four libraries.
More than fifty years ago, the Great Books Movement started at the University of Chicago with the idea that ordinary people could meet and discuss the enduring ideas and issues found in classic writings. The Great Books Foundation promotes reading and conversation about great literature through discussion groups.
Meets the second Tuesday of every month at 4:30 p.m. Kids in first through third grades read and discuss a book and make a theme-related craft. Snacks provided. Sign up at the Children's Desk to get a copy of the book.

Calling all 4th-6th grade chapter book readers! Join us and read a chapter book each month, discuss it, and share our love of reading! Meets the 4th Monday of the month from 4:30 - 5:30 pm. Registration required. Drop by the children's desk for a copy of your book; books will be available at each subsequent meeting, too.
Meets the 2nd Thursday of each month from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the P.S. Miller Library in Castle Rock. All teens are welcome.
