Workshops

An entire day of workshops, networking and activities for writers. Gain valuable tips and insight from experienced writers and other publishing professionals. Workshop topics include the craft of writing fiction, non-fiction, poetry, publishing, and promotion. This event was formerly known as the Castle Rock Writers’ Conference.

Ages: Recommended for adults and teens but children are welcome to attend.

Keynote Speakers

Todd MitchellTodd Mitchell

Todd Mitchell is the author of the middle grade novel, The Traitor King (Scholastic Press, 2007), and the young adult novel, The Secret to Lying (forthcoming from Candlewick Press, Spring 2010). He’s also part of a graphic novel coming out with D.C. comics in 2010, and he’s published several short stories, essays, and poems in national and international journals. Currently, he serves as the Director of the Beginning Creative Writing Teaching Program at Colorado State University. He lives in Fort Collins, Colorado with his wife, dog, and two daughters.

Shari CaudronShari Caudron

Shari Caudron is the author of What Really Happened and Who Are You People (Colorado Book Award Winner). She also contributes to 5280 magazine. When she is not writing she teaches narrative nonfiction at The University of Denver, Arizona State University and Lighthouse Writers, works with fascinating range of people as a writing coach, and speaks about passion, writing, creativity and storytelling to a diverse range of audiences. She recently joined with two fellow writers to create The Writers Block, Denver's first co-working community designed specifically for writers. Shari lives in Denver and enjoys good sheets, French Burgundy, California Cab and Steve Martin.
