Volunteers Needed!

Book Start Early Literacy Program LogoShare the love of reading with a child! Volunteers get two-hours of specialized training at Philip S. Miller Library, Castle Rock, and are placed with local childcare centers and begin reading! Training is held from 9:30 a.m. to Noon, the third Wednesday of each month.

To book your spot, stop by your library, call 303-688-7658 or click here. The Book Start Early Literacy Program is an inter-generational project that brings quality literature to children in childcare centers throughout Douglas County. Volunteers need no experience, must provide their own transportation, must love reading, have a clear reading voice, and a desire to read to children. The commitment is two hours per week for a minimum of three months.
