Book Clubs
A Book Club for Writers
Good writers first must be good readers, right?
Join us the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. We'll read a book and then dissect it for insight into how each author's choices can inform and influence our own writing.
Great Books Discussions
Douglas County Libraries currently sponsors Great Books Discussion Groups at four libraries.
More than fifty years ago, the Great Books Movement started at the University of Chicago with the idea that ordinary people could meet and discuss the enduring ideas and issues found in classic writings. The Great Books Foundation promotes reading and conversation about great literature through discussion groups.
Everyday Book Club
DCL has partnered with FOX 31 Denver’s Everyday show and other area libraries to bring you a new monthly book club that will highlight a current title each month.
Book club segments will air on Mondays during the Everyday show’s 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. broadcast, featuring introductions of each month’s book, segments on library services or programs, and book discussion with librarians from Douglas County Libraries, Denver Public Library, Arapahoe Library District, Jefferson County Public Library, and the Colorado State Library.
