Just in time for back to school – the Highlands Ranch Library has several children’s programs open for registration

Creative Writing classes for 1st – 2nd graders and 3-6th graders: Get your creative juices flowing! Enjoy this seven-week creative writing session which will incorporate fun writing activities and a visit with a local author.

Each 1st-2nd grader or 3rd-6th grader can attend one seven-week session. The first session begins August 24th at 4:15pm . Registration is required.


Adventures in Reading for 3rd-4th graders begins August 27th at 4:15pm. This book group will also be in seven-week sessions. For a list of books, please contact the Children’s Department at Highlands Ranch Library. Children can sign up for one seven-week session. Registration is required.


Bookbusters book group for 5th-8th graders runs from September 1st through May 2010. Registration is required and a list of books is available from the children’s department.


Mother/Daughter Book Club 4th-6th graders – meets on Monday, August 31st at 6:30pm. The book they will discuss is the young reader’s version of Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson.

Registration is required and copies of the book are available for pick up at the children’s desk at Highlands Ranch Library.


Book Club for 1st and 2nd Graders – begins on Thursday, September 3rd at 4:30pm. Registration is required for this seven-week session class. Children will focus on reading skills and fun activities and can register for one session. For more information contact the children’s department at Highlands Ranch Library.
