Douglas County Libraries' Brew Tour is Back!

Back for its second year, The Douglas County Brew Tour is bigger and better with an added brewery and more events! Download your passport beginning September 1, then start visiting participating Douglas County breweries to have a beer and get your passport stamped. Bring your passport – stamped with at least 5 of the 8 breweries – back to any Douglas County Libraries location to get your free limited-edition Brew Tour pint glass, while supplies last.

Join DCL on Wednesdays throughout September – each week we’ll be at a different brewery tapping our special “Library Brews” and providing speakers and events for all beer lovers to enjoy.

  • Sept. 9: Beer and Chocolate Pairing with The Chocolate Therapist (Elk Mountain Brewing) *Supplies are limited!

  • Sept. 17: Pages, Pints, and Pop Culture Trivia (Hall Brewing)

  • Sept. 30: Dan Rabin presents "Notes from the Tap Room: Observations from Colorado Breweries" (Lone Tree Brewing Co.)

Help us name our library brews!

Six of our brewery partners are creating delicious beers just for us. Submit your most creative beer names through our Facebook page and enter to win our sweepstakes. Your entry makes you eligible for our random drawing for a DCL Brew package, which includes a copy of The American Craft Beer Cookbook, a DCL Great Douglas County Brew Tour pint glass, and a DCL bottle opener.

We will select grand prize winners based on the best beer names. There will be six grand prize winners, one for each of the library brews. Each winner will be invited to the tapping party of the beer that he or she named. Additionally, winners will receive a DCL Beer package, which includes a DCL Great Douglas County Brew Tour t-shirt, pint glass and bottle opener, as well as brewery swag.

The Great Douglas County Brew Tour is a part of Outside the Lines, which celebrates libraries' spirit of creativity and innovation. September 13-19, libraries across the globe will reintroduce themselves to their communities and get people thinking and talking about libraries in a whole new way.
