Artists wishing to show their work in the Douglas County Libraries can submit their requests by November 1st.
In order to be considered, they are asked to submit images (between 5 and 10) of their works in any one of the following ways: Digital photos by email, on CD mailed to the branch where you want to show your work, prints or via the artist's website link. Art Guilds and societies may submit as a group.
All submittals must include the artist's name, address, phone, email address, web address if applicable, type of mediums used, and number of pieces. Committees at each branch will jury all submittals and choose artists to show in 2013. The library provides art exhibit space to promote its role as a community cultural center. The objective is to showcase local artists' expressions, and the jury will consider aesthetics, craftsmanship, presentation, size and available display space
"Each library has a Program Liaison who handles the art shows because of our different-sized spaces," said Lisa Casper of the Highlands Ranch Library. "We ask that if the artist has had a show in 2012, that they not re-apply until the 2014 cycle"
