Find great books at great prices at the Douglas County Libraries.
Gently used books are available for sale at several of our branches and proceeds from the sales benefit the Douglas County Libraries Foundation.
How do I make a donation?
You may make either monetary or in-kind donations, including book donations, through Douglas County Libraries Foundation.
Bring your book donations to one of our libraries. We accept:
- books (in good shape: no stains, excessive fading/yellowing, or other damage) EXCLUDING textbooks, condensed books, encyclopedias, and computer books older than 5 years
- recorded books (tapes and cd)
- videos and dvds
Call ahead (303.791.READ) for large donations to ensure that there is storage space.

Does the library offer a summer reading program?
Douglas County Libraries offer three reading programs per year.
- Fall program begins October 1--children only
- Spring Program begins February 1--children only
- Summer Program begins June 1--all ages, children, teens, adults
