Come enjoy light refreshments as you listen to local authors talk about their books at the Philip S. Miller Library in Castle Rock, September 21 at 2 pm! The authors presenting include: Tom Adair, Lee Mossel, Michelle Rodenburg, Austin Weaver, Laurie Marr Wasmund, Scott Collins, Louis Blanc, Nancy Grisham, Natasha Jain, K.B. Lebsock, Jessica Wulf and Barbara Oliverio. Registration is required.
Artists wishing to show their work at Douglas County Libraries may submit requests to the staff members listed below. Artists must be 18 years of age or older; artists under the age of 18 may submit their works through their school’s art program.
Artists must submit 5-10 images of their works in one of the following ways: digital photos or a link to an artist’s website via email, or prints or a CD mailed to the desired branch location. Art guilds and societies may submit a single group application.
E-books put pressure between libraries and publishers
E-books have changed the world of publishing in fundamental ways. The business model that encouraged publishers to support the work of public libraries has changed to such an extent that this relationship has been stressed to the point of non cooperation.
