Trick or Pete

Trick or Pete

Join us for a spooktacular evening at the Douglas County Events Center with Eric Litwin, New York Times' bestselling author of the first four Pete the Cat books and The Nuts: Bedtime at the Nut House! Prepare to be entertained as he performs spooky songs and stories.

The event runs from 4:30pm - 7:30pm, and Eric Litwin will take the stage at 6pm. Both before and after his performance we will have activities for the whole family to enjoy: a Sweet Street for Trick or Treating, a Photo Booth, and a "Haunted" Forest (not actually scary, we promise!). Attendees are welcome to come to the event any time between 4:30 and 6pm. If you have younger kids and would prefer to just bring them for Eric's performance, you are certainly welcome to do so. Please don't feel like you need to be there the entire time, or that you need to be there right at 4:30 when the event starts. Take your time, as until 6pm it really is more of a self-directed event.

We will have treats on the Sweet Street, but please be aware that we will not have food available to purchase. If you have children with food allergies, please keep that in mind before participating in Sweet Street. You are welcome to bring in snacks/dinner for your family if you prefer to do so. The seating area in front of the stage will be available during the entire event for folks who wish to sit, relax, and wait for Eric's performance. There will also be an unattended stroller parking area available for use.

Tattered Cover Bookstore will be at the event selling Eric Litwin's books; Eric will be signing books both before and after his performance. You are welcome to bring books from your personal collection for Eric to sign, but please keep in mind that he is the author of the first four Pete the Cat books only (I Love My White Shoes, Groovy Buttons, Rocking in My School Shoes, and Pete the Cat Saves Christmas), and as such those are the only Pete the Cat books he will be able to sign. If you have a question as to whether he can sign your particular book, please feel free to email Kerri Morgan at: kmorgan@dclibraries.org or ask any of the DCL staff at the event. Tattered Cover will only be selling books that Eric is permitted to sign.
